Beautiful Mother of Pearl and Shiva Eye earrings set in solid sterling silver.

Mother of pearl is the common name for an iridescent nacre coating, a blend of minerals that are secreted by oysters and other molluscs and deposited inside their shells, coating and protecting them from parasites and foreign objects.Like pearls, mother of pearl jewellery falls in the group referred to as organic jewellery—jewellery that originates from a living creature, plant or organism.
Discovered on the seabed in the shallow tropical waters of Thailand and Indonesia, the Shiva Eye gem is actually the protective door found at the opening of the Turban Snail's shell, which towards the end of the snail's natural life, detaches and sinks to the seabed.
The colour of the swirl can vary, but the shell is always white or pale.
Shiva Shell sometimes called Pacific Cat's Eye has been believed to open the Third Eye Chakra which transform and mute negative energy. It is a stunning natural gem made of calcium carbonate and has brown and black banding carved into the shape of the eye.
In the Orient, Shiva's eye is highly venerated as a preserver of good luck, the feeling being that it guards the owner's wealth and protects from poverty.
